1. Who we are

Garden Affairs is a landscape and garden services company based in the Kingdom of Bahrain. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information across our mobile apps and our website at gardenaffairs.me — including, at the time of writing, the GulfGrow planting calendar app and the Garden Affairs Irrigation Calculator app.

2. The short version

Garden Affairs apps collect very little. We do not require an account to use any of them. We do not run advertising. We do not sell or share your data with anyone except the specific service providers needed to run the apps (Apple, Google, and Firebase). Subscription payments are handled entirely by Apple or Google — we never see your card.

3. Information we collect

The specific data depends on which app or website you’re using.

All Garden Affairs apps:

• The device identifier your operating system provides to apps for installation and update purposes. We do not store this beyond what the OS provides.

GulfGrow (subscription app):

• A local copy of your current subscription status (active / inactive) stored on your device.
• Subscription transaction details processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. We see only what those platforms share with us (transaction ID, product purchased, expiry date) — not your payment details.
• The crop data the app reads is not personalised — every user reads the same crops collection.

Garden Affairs Irrigation Calculator:

• Garden zone configurations and plant selections you enter, stored locally on your device only.
• If you use the in-app contact buttons (Get a Quote, Book Appointment, WhatsApp, phone, email), those launch the relevant external app and are governed by the recipient service’s privacy policy (WhatsApp/Meta, Apple Mail, etc.).

gardenaffairs.me website:

• Standard server logs (IP address, user agent, request timestamp, page requested) retained for up to 90 days for security and diagnostics.
• Cookies necessary for site function. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising cookies.

4. How we use information

We use the information above only for:

• Running the apps and websites you’ve requested to use.
• Validating subscription receipts so we can grant the right level of access.
• Diagnosing and fixing problems.
• Complying with applicable Bahraini and international law.

We do not use your information for advertising and do not profile users for any purpose.

5. Sharing with third parties

We share information only with the following providers, and only as required for the apps to function:

We do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.

6. Where information is stored

• App data stays on your device using your platform’s secure storage.
• Backend data (the read-only crops collection in GulfGrow) is hosted on Google Cloud Platform in the EU multi-region (eur3), encrypted in transit and at rest.
• Subscription receipts are validated against Apple’s and Google’s servers.

7. Your rights

You have the right to:

• Cancel a subscription at any time via your device’s subscription management settings (Apple ID → Subscriptions, or Google Play → Subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• Request access to any data we hold about you.
• Request deletion of any data we hold about you, subject to legal retention requirements.

8. Children

Our apps are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we hold such information, contact us immediately and we will delete it.

9. International transfers

Information processed by Apple, Google, or Firebase may be transferred to the United States or other jurisdictions where those providers operate. Each provider is responsible for legal compliance during such transfers. By using the apps you consent to this.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent material change. We will notify you of material changes via the app or by email where reasonable.
